HOTELROOMS/RATESRESTAURANTHALL AND ITS SURROUNDINGCONTACT

The first Turmhotel Seeber was built in 1928 to plans by Lois Welzenbacher, a pioneer of modern architecture. When it was built on the edge of the spa park, it became a standard bearer for modernity in the Tirol.

Until 1953 the hotel was owned and managed by the Seeber family. The hotel tower was then sold to the Styrian, Rudolf Hoskowetz. For almost 50 years, the Hoskowetz family ran the Hall Parkhotel. Many of the guests were in Hall making use of the spa facilities (until the spa closed in 1967).

In 1998 the municipal authority acquired the long-established hotel. The plan was to convert the whole complex, including the adjoining spa, into a 4-star conference hotel with approx. 100 beds, restaurant, bar, event facilities, a small wellness area and a redesign for the neighbouring spa parkland. Linked to the spa, the parkhotel Hall would become one of the Tirol's main conference centres.

How did they find the right architect?

    By a competition ...
Altogether 42 (teams of) architects took part in the competition for converting parkhotel Hall. When the actual winner of the project could not meet the financial requirements, the jury decided to go for the second-ranked entry, one submitted by architects Dieter Henke and Marta Schreieck.

The redesign of the Parkhotel Hall was divided into two sections

    * Renovation of the Welzenbacher tower, based on the original plans of Lois Welzenbacher.

    * The addition of a glass, circular tower for bedrooms to the northwest of the then hotel complex.

At this point, the old town car-park was also extended to the north to accommodate 450 cars.

In January 2002 the old Parkhotel was closed, and then in March of that year the preliminary work on the new build and conversions began.

The conversion work for the new parkhotel Hall was completed in May 2003.

On May 20, 2003, trial operations began and on July 4, 2003 the parkhotel Hall was re-opened as part of Hall in Tirol's 700th anniversary celebrations
